By the way, instead of deleting the check_command line, you probably want to override it with another in the host itself, such as with check_http.</description>

I did what you suggested and restarted the nagios. It worked well.  Thank you for the suggestion.

It is good that I am not receiving for &quot;host down&quot; status but the hosts are still in red at the nagios web interface and they &quot;seem&quot; down. All my service checks are green and working well.

Do you know if it is possible to change the red background colors to normal one, gray?
